Gary Stroebel, CEO of Namibian media company Future Media, discusses Bravura’s role in working together to bring about the successful acquisition of family-owned media businesses. This was a complex undertaking in a regulated industry and small economy. The result is that Future Media is now in the unique position (in Africa) of owning four national radio stations.

Ivan says that evidence of a company having concluded a transaction and being willing to go back and do another transaction with the same team indicates a trusted relationship and successful transaction.

Grant Dreyer, Head of Business Development and Strategy at Afrimat Limited, a leading black empowered open pit mining company listed on the Construction & Building Materials’ sector of the Main Board JSE Limited, describes his team’s experiences working with Bravura as a corporate advisor to facilitate a successful transaction amidst South Africa’s Covid-19 lockdown period in mid-2020. Afrimat Limited purchased 100% of the shareholding of Coza Mining (Pty) Limited for a purchase consideration of R300 million. Bravura assisted the Coza shareholders to find Afrimat as the purchaser and acted as corporate adviser.

Gert Schoonbee of family-owned farm Schoonbee Landgoed, discusses Bravura’s support as Exclusive Financial Advisor to the Gert Schoonbee Beleggings (Pty) Ltd group of companies in partnering in an innovative profit-for-purpose transaction.Schoonbee contributed two existing operational farms, and Thebe Investment Corporation (Pty) Ltd contributed equity for the establishment of additional citrus and grape developments. In addition, senior debt and mezzanine funding was raised to fund the developments. This resulted in the establishment of a Black-owned farming initiative, which comprises 208 ha of grapes and 175 ha of citrus.

Natasha Sideris, Founder of the Sideris family-owned tashas boutique restaurant brand, shares her experience of working with Bravura.
Bravura acted as the Corporate Advisor in a transaction which saw the Sideris family acquire full ownership of the tashas brand which they had co-owned for more than a decade with Famous Brands.
